boring documentation

I think the internet is going slower. Not in general, just lately and locally around me. Stuff has been taking forever to load or just not loading at all. I might just be jumping to conclusions, last night it was working fine, but today in a few different spot, it was acting weird.
I just wanted to document that.

Also, date and/or time doesn't usually display correctly for this site. I'm just not super motivated to fix it right now, but on a good note, I do believe it is stored properly.
a quick shout out from my couch

Good stuff everyone. Although this site is still in a very early stage of development, I have enjoyed a steady flow of traffic over the past 2 weeks. I have been doing a good amount of work on the photo pages. Today was my first opportunity to test it in Internet Explorer 6, and not to my surprise, it did not display as intended. The problem is likely with my the margins,so the fix shouldn't be too difficult. This is yet another reason to USE FIREFOX!

Now on to some quick talking points:

LOST - I will not be a spoiler to anyone who has not seen the season premier (is it the season premier, or is this still considered season 3?). If anyone has missed any of the LOST episodes, since the pilot, then you can watch them for free at: ABC
The quality is pretty good, and you can double the screen size by clicking a button in the lower right hand screen. I did encounter some choppiness but it's free, so no use complaining. For myself, I've been downloading the episodes from iTunes...but sometimes this makes me nervous, because ultimately, I hope to own a HD version of the series, which iTunes does not yet have.

ROME - are you kidding me? ROME is so awesome, it is right up there with LOST in my top 5 TV shows of all time. Now that Octavian and Mark Antony have joined forces, I can't even imagine how sick they are going to get when they fight Brutus, who sucks in my book. I think the son Pullo had with Cleopatra, which everyone thinks was conceived by the late Julius Caesar, is still going to play some kind of role in the future. I suppose I could just catch up on some Western Civ...but then I would really spoil the show for myself.

7.1 - I purchased a Onkyo 7.1 surround system that got delivered Saturday. First off, I am very happy with the system, I got the silver HT-S790 system, it is exceeding my expectations. Origionally, I planned on only 5 of the 7 surround speakers with the sub, but after I spent a full day drilling holes and hiding wires, I realized the two additional side speakers could easily fit into the current set up. I have everything in place now and video games, music, and videos sound awesome. I can't wait for more things to be in HD, as audio quality almost always improves when video does.

Ping Pong Anyone? - To carry on the tradition Bard and I started in college, I ordered a Ping Pong table like a week ago off overstock.com. The web site said it would ship in 4-6 weeks, but I got a call today that it will be dropped off tomorrow. AWESOME. I am going to approach Ping Pong like Canasta, something I dabbled in during college but mastered in life. HOLLA.

Digital Camera - I ordered the Cannon Digital Rebel XT last night. It's an entry level digital SLR. I am excited to learn how to take better pictures. Currently, all the pictures in the photo albums were taken with a Sony 5 mega-pixel T something or anther camera. I am very happy with those photos, but that camera is more suited for parties, than landscape/etc shots. So, hopefully there will be some cool photos being posted in the coming months.

In closing, I have a soccer game in an hour...better than 11 but I would still prefer earlier. Softball sign-ups are March 12! Very excited about that, but also sad, because our captain got a great promotion to work for the company in NJ. Him and I started playing in this league 3 years ago on some random team, and then started the Magic Stick the following year...2 years and a lot of history later, we are a force to be recked with in the Coed B Division...double HOLLA. Any other quick shout outs?...hmmm...some for the site fans for sure, my Ketchup loving friend in B-Lo and the brothers that roll almost as deep a Johny Cash in the 'Cuse def deserves some love this Monday evening. A shout out to user "101", Bdel, our most recent member, who as always, delivers good feedback on site usability... "Your either building bridges, or putting up hurdles". An finally, to my best friend Pugsley, because he found out today his esophagus is too big, or too small, or too something, and when he runs up and down steps he will likely puke :-( poor little fella :-(

From the inside out, good night.

ps - logging in under the "comments" section does not appear to be working. You need to log in at the top, right "log in" box.

a few quick talking points this evening:

- 25 users! This is very exciting, thank you to everyone who has signed up and checked out the site. Everything is still very unrefined, so your patience is greatly appreciated.

- I have a soccer game @ 10 tonight... definitely not the ideal time on a "school night".

- LOST tomorrow, 2 hours, starting @ 9pm on ABC. My quick thoughts on LOST: I think Walk and Desmond are two of the most important/powerful characters on the show. We have already scene how Walt was able to make a bird fly into a window (killing itself) as well as the polar bears he created (in my opinion) at various times. Desmond was shown predicting the future at the end of Season 3, and at the end of a previous season, we saw how his girlfriend had a crew at one of the "poles" monitoring electromagnetic bursts (like the one that took down the plane). After the killing of my favorite character Echo, I think Sawyer is the runner up for who I like the most. Needless to say, I'm very excited for 16 straight episodes.

- I got the code working to determine the dimensions of photos, it will not be much longer before I modify some other sections of the Photo Albums pages so pictures of different sizes display correctly, thus allowing me to upload many more albums.

- the more I read these blog posts, the more I realize I could be the biggest dork in the world (but luckily am not, since I know many bigger dorks, mostly kids who graduated a year before I did in college)

Have a good night.
