Last week, SU's [a href="http://newhouse.syr.edu/" target="_blank"]S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications[/a] did an [a href=" http://www.thenewshouse.com/story/harry-holds-court" target="_blank"]article[/a] on one of my close friends grandfather, or as he is most commonly known by his family and friends 'Papou'. As the article and video show, he is an amazing person on many different levels. I'm very happy I've had the chance to spend some time with him over the years. The article and video are definitely worth checking out.
Enjoy!

- LOST - soccer - video
With the absence of a new LOST episode this evening, I finally got to goto one one of my indoor soccer games. This is the first session we've ever had games on Thursdays, and this is the first season I've ever committed to hosting a LOST party for every episode. This season of LOST has been great. Opposed to being overwhelmed by the many new doors of questions that have been opened this season, I have chosen to make peace with my eagerness and curiosity to figure out what everything means, and just take every amazing second in; without asking how, what, and why.
The funniest thing happened right at the end of our game tonight... we were up by 1 and there was less than a minute left... I was sucking wind big time and found myself being the only one between one of our opponents better players and our goalie... needless to say he absolutely broke me with a nice little move... being able to partially recover, I started to change my inertia and proceed in the direction I should have gone in the first place... being about 1 or 2 steps too far away to break up the shot, I was utterly useless...until... my jackass teammate, raised in the same city as I, pushed me down in front of the shot. It was amazing. Anyones best guess would be that I made an awkward kamikaze like dive, but he and I knew better. It worked, we regained control of the ball, and won the game. I look forward to hopefully returning the favor at some point during our quickly approaching softball season.
Besides that, not much to report. I've been doing a lot of preparing lately. Preparation for a wide variety of things. Things like trips, projects, and life. I'm currently in the yellow zone of preparation. I'm doing stuff like tanning, thinking, and producing. Tanning my body so I don't burn; thinking about things I'm doing, will do, and shouldn't do; producing results. Results like ideas and content. Theres really a whale of an idea we are working on right now. This might not be the money maker you read about on this thing called the internet, but it could be, and I find that just fascinating!
If fascinating is tonights designated word for cool things then I will use it to tag this following video. It was shot in the school and by the students my Dad is vice principal of.
Did you know that children of identical twins are considered half siblings because they share half the same genes?
Good night.
New Orleans Video Slide Show

- video - Discomentary
I got a good amount of work done on a segment for Discomentary Volume 1, about 1 minute 20 seconds to be exact. I knew I wanted to get something done on that project, I just didn't know what to work on, so I started fooling around with an idea I've had for a few weeks. I primarily used Illustrator, Photoshop and After Affects; and I'm happy with what I got done. I think I will use this project for part of the videos beginning.
I always have internal debates about what best drives many projects like this (or a website), content or layout. I often find that the content will end up dictating the layout, so getting carried away with layout during the initial phases could be time wasted, but unlike many of my recent projects, the content is often already ready in one form or another, so layout is one of the only areas still left to be worked on. To be fair to this topic, I will not even discuss it any further, there is really so much that can be said on it, and I am way too tried to even think about something like this right now :)
I've been having another internal debate about whether or not I would post much video for Discomentary on the web using a third party service such as YouTube. My primary reservation in doing so is due to my desire to have everything I work on and then display to be shown in as close to the original resolution/quality that I intended on it being shown in. I decided to post the New Orleans video slide show tonight. The quality did get butchered a bit, but it actually isn't all that bad. It will be nice for some of my friends to see who were on that trip, which was ultimately the deciding factor in me uploading it.
Here is the clip:
Well no more internal debates to be discussed this evening. This is neither the time, nor the venue, for more interesting conversation.
Leaving you with a filtered view of life on the inside, out,
good night.

- video - internal debate
I was just fooling around with some of the new programs. I built a few test projects but discarded most of them. I have a small clip that I am going to post, but will likely take it down in the near future. I believe this video absolutely pushes the envelope on what I feel comfortable releasing to a completely unmoderated audience. I am curious if I am being overly cautious, or a tad naive, by debating whether or not this video is appropriate to post in a general blog, and then posting it. Regardless, it won't mean that much to most, except to a few select people, for them, it might possibly awaken a few memories of how things used to be.
Disclaimer: This video contains bad language. I would rate it pg-13.
giving you a small peak of the inside, from the inside, out; good night.
