- Weddings - Thatcher Park - Copperstown - Heroes
Today was a nice day. Not necessarily outside, but inside. A very good friend that I mentioned in my previous post called me today and told me he got engaged over the weekend, not a robot after all I see :-) I get happy when those who are close to me are happy. Next years wedding season is already shaping out to be a busy one, with a close friend getting married (at a casino, YES) at the end of June, the "Thrills" the day before my birthday, and a few other important ones I have and have not previously mentioned, I believe I will be spending a lot of time on the road and in the air. I think I'm going to pick out one or more cool summer suits for all of these events.
This past weekend was busy, enjoyable, productive, and tiring. A buddy was up for the weekend, so we played in a softball game Friday night and then had a late night out on the town. The next day when we finally woke up we hit up
Five Guys and then brought our cameras up to
Thatcher Park and got some cool pictures of the fall foliage. I've uploaded some of them to an album today.
I spent pretty much all of Sunday working on primarily Cooperstown, with a little time spent on the site for my high school buddy who was up last weekend. I set up some administrative stuff for Cooperstown. I had an unusually and unexpectedly difficult time setting up .htaccess and .htpasswd files for a directory, my difficulties were caused by the fact that I forgot the site is currently not being hosted at the root level of the web hosting directory, but rather in a folder a few levels deeper, once I realized/remembered that, everything went smoothly. I did some final tune ups and error handling for the new blog entry page, then I reorganized and cleaned up the files/folders for that page, I believe all work on that is now completed (although I now want to add the functionality to load and edit previous posts, but am going to wait so I can continue work on much more important matters with the site).
On an unrelated yet equally boring note, this site (sethdesantis.com) has recently been visited a ton of times by some bots from IP addresses 208.99.195.54 and 65.55.230.165 . I think I will have to implement some safeguards to block such unwanted traffic in the near future. I did a little research on these IP addresses and found out that many other people are also having issues with them.
I currently have Heroes Season 1 on, I've been re watching the series (LOST style!) via Apple TV via iTunes the past week or so, I must say that the older episodes definitely tie in a lot of things that are currently happening in the current season. I didn't get a chance to watch tonights episode and my stupid DVR didn't record it (or stupid me forgot to free up space), so I'm going to download it tomorrow and see what happened then.
Alright, I'm done.
From the inside, out, good night.

- Halo 3 - Heroes - The Office - NBC - iTablet
I made the rank of Lieutenant in Halo 3 today. I was pretty excited, as it unlocked a 25 point "achievement", as well as upgraded the little rank icon next to me name to a shiny silver rectangle thing. I really can't get enough of this game, especially the multiplayer. It's the best multiplayer game I've ever played, I'm not like a fanatic when it comes to these games, but I bet most fanatics rank this pretty high on their list. Here are some screen shots of my dude, Bona Stu.
During a team game:
During "lone wolves" ie: everyman for himself
Those screen shots are from "in game", every second of every match looks that good....so cool.
You may notice my current choice in colors as well as logo. I like to represent my lucky number "11" as well as the
Fleur-de-lis, to represent post Katrina New Orleans. The colors are from my high school, as well as my softball team.
I like to see it when television shows pay homage to post Katrina New Orleans. Heroes does this. I really, really, like NBC's Heroes. I'm not even going to get into it right now, but I have been following it religiously and really like where it is going. I also like NBC's The Office, definitely one of the funniest shows of all time. Worthy to note I enjoyed this weeks episode, but enjoyed it a little bit less than last weeks, which I enjoyed just a slight tab less than all the preceding episodes. Making tonights episode the worst of all time, but still awesome. I hope this trend does not continue, and I do not believe it will. I had to watch one episode on NBC's website, which is nice, but so much worse than just buying it from iTunes. I hate nbc so much. They should be arrested for taking their shows off of iTunes, every single person involved in that decision should be arrested....unless they were involved in getting Heroes or The Office, in which case they should just be fired.
On a sad note, getting the Photo Album page to work in Internet Explorer could be a little more difficult than I thought. I won't even go there right now. It will likely all work out just fine.
I still think Apple will release an iTablet. Why not maximize the head start/momentum they have in the arena of portable touch screen technology, and release an 8.5x11 "ultimate all in one". Hopefully, but unlikely, more than just wishful thinking.
I'm tired.
Good night.
almost 2 weeks later...

- office - Lost - Rome - Heroes
This is the first blog post from my office. The new iMac arrived today, and the data transfer between my old Mac Book Pro and this new monster concluded approxamitely 10 minutes ago. Needless to say, I am very excited about checking out everything this machine can do.
First thoughts:
-it appears all my old programs transferred great. I was wondering if I was going to have to reinstall any of the Adobe CS programs, but they appear to be working much faster than ever.
-24 inches is a ton of workspace, it's going to take a little getting used to.
...and that's it! like I said, I just started using it about 10 minutes ago!
Second Thoughts:
-AWESOME win today by SU vs uconn in the first round of the Big East tournament. I'm very excited for the rest of this toruny and then Selection Sunday.
-LOST: kind of slow the past 2 episodes. Honestly, when I see Hurley and Charlie in a van together, all I hope for is that black smoke to come and eat them. They just aren't even close to my favorite characters...however, I must say, I like them a ton more than the new characters the show is trying to introduce, who is that random dude and stray chick? Where were they the first few months after the crash? Well enough complaining about my favorite TV show...I am sure we will all be delighted in just under an hour when we get to see tonights episode!
-Rome: AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME... last weeks episode was great.
-Heroes: I've never mentioned NBC's "Heroes", which is a shame, because it is a very clever series. I just got all caught up last night via DVR. It takes the mutant idea from X-Men but adds an entirely fresh plot...can't go wrong there.
And in closing...
-I am about to wage war on my current domain name registrar, I have been laying low over the past two weeks, just waiting for everything to be complete with the office and now I am really, really mad at the fact that I can not pursue my efforts at uploading files via PHP because I can't get this domain transfer complete.
-but on a good note, I am VERY excited about all of the things I will be working on in the very near future. I have a few projects I am working on and there is a lot I have planned for this site.
Good night and enjoy LOST!
